Gaetano Fusco was born in Napleon 10 August 1963. He is a full professor of Transport at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, where he teaches Traffic Engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Since 1991 he has been a member of the Order of Engineers.
From 1992 to 2005 he was a researcher at the same University. In 2014 he obtained the qualification as a full professor; in 2021 he was called by the Department as full professor.
He is President of the Council of the Degree Course in Transport Systems Engineering.
He is Director of the Research Center for Transport and Logistics (CTL) of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
He is a technical-scientific expert for the Ministry of Education, University and Research and has been an evaluator of important national scientific research projects, such as the Major Strategic Research Projects (GPS) and the National Operational Programs (PON).
He is the scientific coordinator of numerous research projects funded by private companies and public bodies.
He is the author of over 100 scientific publications in national and international literature relating to various topics of transport systems, such as the design of transport networks, logistics and transport planning, modeling and estimation of transport demand, the theory of vehicular flow, but mainly focused on the application methodologies of Intelligent Transport Systems, such as traffic light regulation, user information systems, estimation of traffic conditions.
